Hamlin Lake - This man-made lake originated during the logging era when lumbermen dammed the Big Sable River to make a holding pond for felled trees.
The Hamlin Lake Dam is located inside Ludington State Park, where a new hard surface walkway provides handicap access across the dam and on both sides of the Sable River. Be sure to explore hiking and canoe trails which trace the state park’s shoreline. |
